Last night at Paris Fashion Week was the turn of Sarah Burton as Head Designer for her second collection at Alexander McQueen. The collection did everything to fuel the royal wedding dress rumours for Kate Middleton with exquisite white gowns capturing everyone's attention. Paris Fashion week is always a shining star in the world of fashion where fashion's who's who sits up and pays attention. This year Paris Fashion week was no different, however John Galliano took centre stage at Paris Fashion week and not for the right reasons. The Dior designer has been sacked following in the wake of allegations of anti-Semitism. However the show must go on which it did where the designer wasn't present at the show for his collection Paris Fashion week 2011  we look at the best designs and shows so far.

When you think of haute couture you think of exaggerated silhouettes, drama and of course extravegance...with ever so high heels! This week saw every fashion person in the know step out in Paris. Chanel haute-couture show caught everybody's attention with Karl Lagerfeld sending arrays of hues of pinks (a splash of signature Chanel black and white), beads, crystals and pearls...hundreds of thousands of them in fact! And if the rumours are to believed there may have been 10 million beads used in this collection alone!  

However, there was one styling decision that caught our eye....there was not a high heel in sight! Karl Lagerfeld even styled Chanel wedding dresses in flat shoes!That's right, the parade of models walking the Chanel haute couture show were all wearing flat shoes.
