Sarah Burton is the designer of the moment after designing Duchess Of Cambridge, Kate Middleton wedding dress for the Royal Wedding last week. Last night was Sarah Burton first public appearance, since the Royal Wedding, at the Met Gala Ball held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

This year the Met Gala Ball marked the opening of a new exhibition paying tribute to Sarah Burton late friend, Alexander McQueen. Sarah Burton was asked to speak about Alexander McQueen at the press conference where she said, 'When I walked into the exhibition I thought of Lee. The emotion, passion and attention to detail that was in everything that he did. I'm very proud to have worked for him. He truly was a genius.'

Sarah Jessica Parker showed continued support for Alexander McQueen, wearing an archive piece which was the finale outfit from Lee McQueen Autumn Winter 2005 collection; Silver crystal beaded dress with high neckline and 3/4 length sleeves. 

 Estee Lauder model Hilary Rhoda opted for a Sarah Burton design for McQueen from Sarah Burton Spring 2011 collection; a silk white tuxedo coat dress. We love her accessories with Britannia clutch bag and statement cut out lace-up ankle boots. 

Naomi Campbell had a dress especially designed for her by designer of the moment Sarah Burton for McQueen, wearing a crystal embroidered McQueen Couture gown. 

Editor At Large and creative consultant for Vogue Japan, Anna Della Russo caught our eye at the Met Gala Ball. Anna Della Russo wore a tuxedo by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen. We just love the elaborate detailing and the feminine touch to the black duchesse satin tailcoat.
